Learn Spanish, word by word.
This Privacy Policy describes how Tildo ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Tildo mobile application for learning Spanish ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2.1. Account information. When you create an account, we collect:
2.2. Learning and usage data. To run the App we store:
2.3. Device information. We may collect the device type, operating system version, app version and language preferences.
2.4. Microphone and speech recognition. Some exercises let you say a Spanish word aloud. Only when you start such an exercise and grant permission, the App uses your device’s microphone and the speech recognition service of your platform (Apple on iOS, Google on Android) to compare what you said with the expected word. We do not record, store or upload your voice to our servers. Your platform provider may process the audio under its own privacy policy.
2.5. Lock screen and home screen widget. If you add the Tildo widget, a small set of words and their translations is stored locally on your device so the widget can display them. This data stays on your device.
2.6. Subscriptions and purchases. When you buy or restore a subscription:
RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
We use the information we collect to:
4.1. Users without Premium see ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Premium users do not see ads.
4.2. AdMob may use:
4.3. On iOS, the App does not ask for permission to track you, so Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared with advertisers; ads may still be selected based on context and approximate location. On Android, you can reset your Advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation in Settings > Google > Ads.
4.4. Google’s use of data is described here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
5.1. Your account and learning data are stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, operated on Google Cloud Platform), which uses industry-standard security measures.
5.2. Verification and account emails are sent through our own server using the email delivery provider Resend. They receive only your email address and the content of the message.
5.3. Subscription data is processed by RevenueCat (Section 2.6) and advertising by Google AdMob (Section 4).
5.4. Some providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
5.5. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
You can:
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you also have the right to data portability, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account in the App, your profile, progress, friends and related records are deleted, normally immediately and in any case within 30 days, except where we must keep data by law. Unverified email accounts may be removed after a period of inactivity.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will inform you of significant changes in the App. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.

12.3. On termination, your right to use the App ends. Store subscriptions must be canceled separately (Section 7.4).
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tildo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
